Human Cancer Antigen 125 (CA 125), a membrane-associated glycoprotein, is the most popular biomarker for detection of ovarian cancer. The product of the MUC16 gene, CA 125 is often overexpressed in patients with ovarian carcinoma. Elevated levels of CA 125 are present in 90% of women with advanced stages of ovarian cancer. Determining serum levels of both CA 125 and HE4, another ovarian cancer biomarker, can be potentially valuable for monitoring epithelial ovarian cancer.
Our Human CA 125 ELISA Kit measures the levels of cancer antigen 125 in serum or plasma samples as well as in cell lysates.
