Oxidized HDL ELISA Kits

HDL cholesterol, sometimes referred to as “good” cholesterol, has been shown to provide certain benefits against cardiovacular disease. However, when HDL becomes oxidized (OxHDL), it has been shown to lose its cardioprotective properties and actually can be more dangerous than helpful.
The three main markers of OxHDL are MDA-HDL, CML-HDL, and HNE-HDL, each of which may be found on either the protein or the lipid component of HDL. CML and HNE are generally more stable than MDA and may be better choices when testing samples that have been frozen for up to 6 months. MDA is best tested in fresh samples or those frozen for up to one month.
