Halo Assays and Slides

Halo Assays and Slides

The alkaline-halo assay (AHA) allows the measurement of DNA damage at the single-cell level.  The AHA is based on the observation that osmotically-driven radial diffusion of damaged DNA fragments through the pores of an agarose bed is an inverse function of the size of the DNA fragments. Unlike the Comet Assay, the AHA does not require the use of electrophoresis.

Our AHA kits are provided with either a standard size glass microscope slide containing 3 wells, or a larger glass slide containing 96 wells that allows the use of an 8-channel or 12-channel pipette. The slides are also available separately.
