Oxidized LDL ELISA Kits

LDL cholesterol, sometimes referred to as “bad” cholesterol, is even more dangerous when it becomes oxidized. Oxidized LDL (OxLDL) is more reactive with surrounding tissues and can collect within the inner-lining of arteries.

The three main markers of OxLDL are MDA-LDL, CML-LDL, and HNE-LDL, each of which may be found on either the protein or the lipid component of LDL. When testing fresh samples MDA-LDL is the best option, as it is the most prevalent modification in OxLDL. However, it is not stable in samples stored longer than a month. CML-LDL and HNE-LDL are more stable than MDA and may be a better choice when testing samples that have been frozen for up to 6 months.
