A: Our cell-based ELISA kits can be used on suspension cells. The only modification to the protocol necessary will be to spin down the plate before fixing.
Q: Does the CPD-DNA Standard contain only CPD damages or does it also include DNA 6-4PP damage?

A: These kits can be used on any DNA sample, including DNA that has been extracted from paraffin embedded tissues.
Q: Can sheared DNA be used with these assays?
Q: Why is 200ng DNA the maximum amount of DNA that can be added?
A: This assay is an indirect ELISA, where the wells are coated with the DNA sample, and the maximum amount of DNA that the well can capture is 200 ng. Adding more than this will not result in an increased signal because the same amount of DNA will be captured by the well.
Q: What damage can be detected with this assay?
Q: Can this be used on samples from any species?
A: The Global DNA Methylation ELISA kit is not species specific because the 5MedCyd modification is the same for all species.
Q: Can I use this on DNA isolated from formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues?

Sample preparation
Q: Do I need to extract DNA if using urine, plasma, or serum?
A: It is not necessary to extract DNA if samples are a body fluid such as urine, plasma, serum, cerebrospinal fluid, or saliva. Samples may need to be briefly spun down if there are insoluble particles in the sample, otherwise they can be used directly without any pretreatment. For cell and tissue samples, DNA must be extracted first.
Q: I want to test my samples for oxidative stress, but there are so many oxidative stress markers. How do I know which assays to use?

A: Our Wound Healing Assay is compatible with any adherent cell line.
Q: Can the inserts be used with a different plate?
Q: How does the Radius™ assay work?
A: Our Radius assay uses a plate that contains a biocompatible hydrogel at the center of the well; seeded cells will attach everywhere but on the hydrogel. After cells attach, the gel is removed by addition of a removal solution and the assay begins.
