Excess ROS must be promptly eliminated from the cell by a variety of antioxidant defense mechanisms. Cellular antioxidant enzymes and other redox molecules serve to counterbalance ROS generated in the cell.
We offer assays to measure the activity of specific antioxidants: catalase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione. Additionally, you may measure the antioxidant capacity of certain biomolecules (FRAP, ORAC, HORAC, & TAC). To test exogenous antioxidant compounds in a physiological cell-based environment, try our Cellular Antioxidant Assay.
